Enterprise Manager Device Discovery- Communications Failed - See SOL6138
I'm fairly new to working with EM (version 3.1.1), and while working with device discovery, I get a specific error when attempting to discover an offsite LTM 6900. The error code is SOL6138, and checking the var/log/em logs, I find this line:
"Discovery failed for explicit device [device-ip], status comm-failed".
Are there any common problems for this error, or common methods to debug this error?

SOL11317 says that port 443, 4353 and 3306 are required for EM to LTM connectivity.
