ok thank you for responding to my question.
So my best bet would then be to deploy a F5 VE ova template in my VMware ESXi environment?
I have already deployed BIGIP-10.2.0.1707.0.ova template from Big IP website.
can I just upgrade this now to version 11? or should I have gotten a version 11 OVA instead?
also will there be an issue with licensing?

yes
also will there be an issue with licensing?

Excuse me,
i was told that if we upgrade the memory to at least 2GB that this model, 1500 would in fact be compatibile with the latest version.
can you please CONFIRM THIS?

You should more think about a hardware refresh, as this platform will be end of everything in one year (SOL4309). I would recommend to install the latest v10, which is 10.2.4 HF11 so you are safe according to all the latest vulnerabilities.
Ciao Stefan :)
i don't believe you can officially / supported upgrade memory of a 1500.
then finally looking at that SOL it simply isn't possible so it won't be supported.
the 1500 is going end of RMA next year, just replace it.
