Is two default routes possible on F5 without using route domain?

Hi All,

We have a deployment on a client, Viprion with 2 vCMP guests, They have 3 pools of servers, each pool with different VLANs. Their gateway is the 3 self IPs of F5. They wanted to have 3 virtual servers with different VLANs/Subnet. If the backend servers needed to communicate with another device in the data center, we need to have 3 default routes from the F5. Is this possible without using route domain?

Thanks in advanced

  • Hi,

Can you give example of your need???

Do you want to do Policy Based Routing for a forwarding VS?

If you want to do PBR for a forwarding VS, you can create an irule or create 3 Performance Layer VS with:

    • Destination Address 0.0.0.0/0
    • translation disable (convert a performance Layer 4 VS to forwarding but with pool used as Gateway pool. disabled by default when destination is a network)
    • protocol Any
    • Source VLAN or Source address different for each VS
    • default pool containing gateway
