F5 Current Connections
Hi,
Does current connections on the logs of F5 means a current connection of users? Or is it packet based? Can someone explain it to me. Thank you!

That number is the total of all established clientside connections. These include Real User connections, but also app-to-app connections that are merely routed via F5 in your local network (i.e Forwarding type VS). It's not a good number to refer to when trying to determine the number of Real Users. For that, I would recommend you to request statistics from the application team. It would be virtually impossible to come up with that number by counting connections in F5 because 1 network connection rarely equates to 1 Real User. It can be anywhere from 1 to 20 connections per 1 Real User with typical modern apps.
If you would like to determine the number of current connections for a particular application, you can do that by navigating to
Local Traffic -> Virtual Servers -> Statistics
. In this view, the field "Current" is what you're looking for. Another interesting field "Max" is the all-time peak of current connections since last counter reset or reboot.
