"Monitor in use" implies that some other part of the config is using it. Do any other pools (not connected with the iapp) on the device reference that monitor?

Nope, this was the only thing using the iApp. I've uploaded the monitor below. It's doing port 25 balancing and has three IPs under the monitor 'instances.' The only other pools I have are from the Exchange iApp.

Hi Adam, like Fred said, that message is pretty clearly indicating that something is using that monitor. BTW, I tried to reproduce this issue with the SMTP iApp, but couldn't.

I recommend you open a ticket with F5 support on this. If you upload your configuration to iHealth when doing so, I would be glad to have a look at it if you send me the case number.

    thanks

Case 1-2123156611 has been opened. Working with technician now - will update if he finds anything.

The tech ended up having to remove the monitor from the pool and then could remove the SMTP iApp. Same thing happening on our Exchange iApp and I don't have the patience to go through all the pools. :) They'll stay as-is for now.
  • I had a similar problem with error 01070083:3. I was trying re-configure an iapp by specifying a different health monitor and kept getting error 01070083:3. The iApp reconfigure would not let me set any other monitor. The problem turned out to be that I had the same health monitor set in another (related) iapp. Once I realized that, I set a different health monitor in the other iapp and that let me finally change the monitor in the original iapp. So the underlying error message (01070083:3) was correct because the system was unable to delete a health monitor that was in use.
