Config load error after update

I updated the standalone LB, on the config sync stage I received an error saying the config cannot be loaded. All our settings were gone and we tried to fix the issue but decided to boot back to the original HD location. On restore of this we received another alert saying the renamed root user could not be created. THis seems to be a known issue with the upgrade. I can login to the GUI using my ad credentials but not using the root user. When navigating to System Users I receive another error saying there are no users. Is there a way of booting to the HD2 locaton and editing the bigi.conf file of the other partition to re-enable the root user and use the default username so we can boot back to the working image?

  • Hi!

    Welcome to the forum! 🙂

This is probably due to configuration errors/conflicts. When you get this the next time you'll want to enter the shell and run "tmsh load sys config". Then you'll see the problems.

If this was a major upgrade from 10 to 11 you will need to run another command:

    /usr/libexec/bigpipe daol

This will show you where the loading of the configuration fails.

THis seems to be a known issue with the upgrade. I can login to the GUI using my ad credentials but not using the root user.

If you can login with your ad credentials and you're an admin you should be able to change the root user name under System -> Platform.

I don't understand. I thought you already rolled back?

  • Rule (/Common/CEPX—TCP—Unencrpted) content does not Match the signature. Unexpected Error: Loading configuration process failed.

Never seen this before, but the message indicates that you have a signed rule where the content has been changed. If this is the passive unit you might want to remove the rule, load the config and import it again (possibly sign it again as well).

Have you verified that the users are actually present in the configuration file? I think I saw this in another post recently. The solution then was to change the authentication source from remote to local. Not sure if I would be keen to do so in your case though considering that the active directory is your only way in at the moment.
