Action on Service Down and Forced Offline

Hi All,

We're having a bit of a discussion at the moment with regards to what will happen when a Pool Member is "Forced Offline", and Action On Service Down "Reset" is selected, I can't find any definitive information from the below solutions articles.

A simple ask - If a member is Forced Offline AND Action On Service Down RESET is selected, will the Server and Client side connections receive a TCP reset. (The Pool Member will remain up in this scenario.)

  • Dear,

I just tried testing your scenario and I saw that there is a reset packet send out from F5 the moment I changed the pool member status to Forced offline when the AOSD status is selected as Reject...

And when the AOSD status was set to default NONE. there was no change in the existing connection when I forced offline the pool member. However, the connection got disconnected after the idle timeout when there was no traffic..

    Regards,
