BUG: Windows BIGIP Edge client

I work in a rather unique environment where we spin up VE edition BIGIP's on a weekly basis. In testing across a number of environments we think we discovered an issue with the BIGIP Edge client.

On a Windows 10 VM in a ESXi 6.5 environment when you connect to the BIGIP 12.1.0 the first time using a split tunnel VPN it works fine. However the second time you connect it hangs the Windows 10 and kills the OS requiring it is restarted from VMware to restore access.

I have scoured the HF's to see if this is fixed but nothing.

Have you experienced this? Can you reproduce this bug?

BIGIP 12.1.0 VE no HF.
Windows 10 Professional.
Create AAA AD authentication
Create split tunnel Network Access profile
Create connectivity profile, leave defaults.
Create Full Webtop.
Create Access Profile Type All Language English
Edit Access Policy: Create Logon page, AD auth, Advanced resource assign with Network access profile and Full Webtop.
Create HTTPS Virtual server/http/clientssl/serverssl/access profile/connectivity profile.
Connect with IE11 browser in Windows 10. Install components.
Connect VPN then disconnect when fully working.
Connect VPN 2nd time BAM! Windows 10 stops responding.
Let me know if you see the same behaviour.

  • In Windows 10, we have no DNS set. The environment we use has no internet access. Having DNS entries means Windows 10 tries to do SSL validation which fails and causes everything to wait while it tries to validate certificates.
