Using a BIG-IP front-end with a Red Hat Satellite server

Hi, folks,

We have a Red Hat satellite server in our data center. Let's call it satelliteVM.host.ualr.edu. It runs https on port 443. It's got a BIG-IP front end, satellite.ualr.edu. I've been having conniptions trying to make this work easily for our installation and failing.

Does anyone else have this configuration and any thoughts for making it work?

Thanks,

John A

  • Are you just using the F5 as a reverse proxy to the management of the Satellite server (I am not worked with Red Hat Satellite before)?

If so are you off-loading or Bridging the SSL, do you have a client and/or server SSL profiles assigned to your Virtual Server?

Are you load balancing the connection to more than one Satellite server?

Are you able to share your basic configuration and what you are getting or not getting when trying to connect via the F5 Virtual Server?
