  • The F5 underlying system is Linux which you can access and technically install anything you want to.

     

    However the hardware is not standard (in most cases) and anything you do to the Linux OS is not supported by F5 and could invalid your support.

     

    Highly recommended you do not install custom applications on the F5 and if you need monitoring look for a passive system monitoring solution.

     

  • Not to mention that when you upgrade your system (new version, hotfix) you'll lose any software you have installed.
