Few more tips:
Configuring a serial connection between a BIG-IP system and a serial console server Depending on which BIG-IP® system you have, you can use either the supplied RJ45 to DB9 console port cable, serial console cable, or the RJ45F to RJ45M rolled serial adapter to connect the system to a serial console server.
Connect the system to a serial console server using one of these options:
Connect the RJ45 to DB9 console port or serial console cable supplied by F5® to the CONSOLE port on the system.
Note: The default serial port settings are 19200, n, 8, 1.
Connect the RJ45F to RJ45M rolled serial adapter to the CONSOLE port if you are connecting the system to a serial console server with a standard CAT5 cable, and then connect the CAT5 cable to the adapter. The adapter provides the appropriate pinout connection to your equipment.
Connect the console port cable from the system to a management workstation or console server. Power on the system.
Log in using the default user name root and the default password default.
Note: If you cannot see or read output on the serial console, make sure that the baud rate is set to 19200

You can also configure AOM to access console from SSH
On ssh connections, execute:
ssh aom
Authenticate with root credentials
Configure AOM network with netconfig
AOM uses the same network interface as mgmt! So choose one IP address in the same network as mgmt interface!
Note : this procedure is only for 1600, 3600, 3900, 6900 and earlier hardware appliances.
