iApps are scripts used quickly create and maintain a specific solution. Maintained by F5 they are very reliable ways of swiftly and easily creating many resources that work together for a specific goal. More info here.
iControl is a REST API that allows for control from an external user made scripts. More info here

Hi! iControl is an REST iterative interface. iApp is a guided configuration you generally use in the GUI. You could execute an iApp via iControl but is not recommended, use instead AS3
