Visualizing the load-balancing environment

Top of the mornin' developers! As you will quickly learn, I am not one. I have seen some implementations of what is called an internet weather map, which gives a network topology and inbound/outbound statistics on each link. I would like to apply this concept and visually represent an application as it flows through the F5. On the lines, text for current connections at the vip and pool member level as well as current bits in/out. I realize this information is available in the F5 under the stats pages, but I was thinking more globally, like having a server when the PoolStats.pl script from the codeshare is being run to all my F5 devices and the data instead of printing to console is being calculated and stored in a database. Then tools like NEMO (http://software.uninett.no/nemo/) could be utilized to gather a quick synopsis of the application. Each link in the attached diagram could include a link to a CACTI graph of the historical performance of that link.

Now my question...is anyone already doing this, or a piece of it? I saw a post regarding CACTI, but I don't want to use SNMP as the oids are dependent on the IP addresses of the vips/pool members.

Packaging all this together may net someone a nice little entrepreneurial opportunity! Thanks for any advice.
