For an HA pairs, there's 1 x floating (shared) IP and 2 x self IPs (one per HA member) per backend vlan. I don't know of a reason to have two floating (or two self) IPs from the same vlan on one load balancer. Typically, in HA pairs the self IPs are the source for health checks, while the floating IP is for backend traffic (I recommend looking up info on both, however). At least that's my undertsanding based on what I've seen in our configuration.
