Will BT Anti Virus work with EPI in APM

Hi , have a user unable to log into our APM portal using his ISP' free anti virus. It's called BT Anti Virus but seems to be baed on McAfee which is on out allowed list. However, the policy will not allow him to login. OPSWAT has been updated to latest version as has EPI.

Is this a case of this av will not work and an alternative is needed? Is there a way of going deeper into the logs to check why it's failing?

Thanks

Dave

  • Hello Dave,

Regarding the logs you can set the APM Access Policy logs on debug and see what the errors are with this AV. Also if you unzip the epsec iso you should see a Tools folder that has tools for Windows, Linux, and MAC. You want to get the OESISDiagnose.zip and OESISDiagnose_V3.zip on the client. Then open OESISDiagnose_V3.zip and run OesisDiagnose_V3.exe. This will create a .log and a .xml file in the same directory. You can look at these to see if OPSWAT can even detect the AV.

All that having been said on the APM Admin GUI click on the "About" tab. Click on the Support link then the OPSWAT Application Security Integration Support Charts. I looked and that AV is not listed so I would suggest a alternative AV that is supported.
