F5 Big IP Web GUI not picking up changes

Hello,

Thank you for your time. I have a problem with one of our f5's. The other day i wanted to change the root and admin passwords. I can change them in the web GUI just fine and click update.

The problem is, the F5 is not picking up on the change.

Today i had another problem when our whole VPN died. I noticed it was using LDAP creds which expired. So i changed the password for LDAP but also, it did not pick up the change. The new entry is still in the WebGUI but its just not picking it up.

I can create pools, health checks, all that just fine. (even a new LDAP check i made works)

But its not picking up Admin/root password changes or changing the VPN LDAP user/pass. I click update, does not give any error.. Just ignores the change.

version is BIG-IP 11.6.0 Build 6.0.442 Hotfix HF6 Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

    Historic F5 Account

    Hi,

Anything (errors) in the logs when you try to update the configuration ?

I'd suggest opening up a case with F5 Support to investigate further. Configurations changes via the GUI should be effective right away and saved to disk as well.

have you tried to log out and log in again to see if changes applied like this?

  • Hi zpavlovic,

Either change it as admin in the GUI via System/Platform or login via SSH and enter

    passwd root
. Specify the new password and you should be all good. If you are running a redundant pair, you'll want to perform a config sync to mirror the change to the other unit.

  • Hello.

I tryed to login as admin and then go to system platform and change the admin pass. When i change it, it logs me out as expected but when i try to login back into it, it does not recognise the new password so i have to login with the old one
