Failover methods are a configuration property of the traffic group as explained in the below article which applies to the 13.x release. If you're not running the 13.x train yet, be sure to refer to the version of the document relevant to your environment. You can find the associated failover method of the traffic group via the GUI as discussed in the referenced article under the heading of "Creating a Traffic Group", via the below tmsh CLI command, or the equivalent API call:
list cm traffic-group *traffic_group_name* all-properties
You can find the traffic group name with:
list cm traffic-group
