Need to configure WS-FTP server.

Hello Team,

 

We need to configure WS_FTP server on F5, I configured VIP on 443, imported certificate and created a new SFTP profile on port 22 and mapped it on VIP, but it is not working.

 

However i checked the application locally and found its working fine on http, this is an WS_FTP server, but they can open it through i.e http://xyz.com.

 

Requirement is

 

User will hits on VIP on 443 and F5 should perform SSL offloading and should send the plaintext traffic to the back-end server.

 

I configured the same but its not working, I can see some traffic on VIP statistics but it is not been forwarded to the back-end server also the back-end server is configured on 80.

    I don't think that your Virtual Server should have a SFTP profile. I'm not familiar with recent versions of WS_FTP server but I'm going to guess and say that it supports FTP, SFTP and HTTP/HTTPS or something like that, and it's up to you to open whatever protocols and ports that you wish to use. In this case it looks like you are trying to open the HTTP/HTTPS interface. So your setup is fine (VS listening in HTTPS on port 443, server is listening on port 80 with no encryption) but you need to remove the SFTP profile. Your VS should have a HTTP profile as well as a client SSL profile. Can you try that?

    Hello Stephane,

     

    I tried with the configuration u mentioned, but it didn't works, that's why i tried with SFTPprofile.

     

    In both the cases there are hits on the virtual servers but it is not forwarded to the backend pool member.

     

    1)Pools are reachable from F5. 2)Automap setting is done.
